Buddy Project
"Colors of Harmony: Transforming Cyberbullying into Inclusivity"
"Buddy Project" is a project created with the aim of eradicating cyberbullying among youth and fostering diversity, inclusion, equity, and equality. Drawing inspiration from the artistic language of Yinka Ilori, this initiative was completed as part of Northeastern University's Information Visualization Studio.
Our campaign takes on a data-driven approach to address this global issue through four mediums: a striking mural series, a wearable tote bag, an engaging digital GIF, and an informative postcard series. With a focus on transforming bullies into buddies, we seek to not only change the narrative but also convey a message of harmony, love, and support in the digital age.

MURAL
The mural immediately captivates with vibrant colors and a bold "Buddy" message, hinting at themes of social media, love, and support. Closer examination reveals insights into cyberbullying:
HOW it happens | WHY it occurs | WHO is vulnerable
WHAT the consequences are | WHEN it can end
Ultimately, the mural conveys a message of transformation – showcasing how bullies can become buddies through change, love, and support.

POSTCARD SERIES

With our postcard series, we aim to infuse social media with harmony, replacing hostility with love and support. Each color on the postcards signifies a deliberate step against cyberbullying, working towards transforming bullies into buddies. Our overarching goal is to catalyze a profound transformation towards a more inclusive, compassionate, and unified digital landscape, where empathy triumphs over hostility.
G.I.F

The GIF provides an insightful overview of anti-bullying laws and policies in the United States. It emphasizes that while these laws are important, true change occurs when individuals take the initiative to stand up for themselves and support other victims. It underscores the power of individual action within the framework of legal protection.
TOTE BAG

Startling statistics: 7 in 10 youths face cyberbullying before turning 18, but it's time for change. A remarkable 50% found respite by confiding in parents or adults, and 30% saw a halt when reporting to apps or websites. Let's make a difference together.
